Little Sundays of Surprises (Age 3- Grade K)

The Rainbow Connection: We Each Have Something Valuable to Contribute

This session explores the value of responsibility, and being accountable for your choices. The class will read Frederick by Leo Lionni and the children will make their own paper mouse.

Big Sundays of Surprises (Grade 1-6)

What Connects Us?: Love in Action

This session looks to the second Source of Unitarian Universalism, “The women and men of long ago and today whose lives remind us to be kind and fair.” This class will encourage empathy and affirm courage, through the story of Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. It will also help the children evaluate what makes a good leader.

Sparks Preschool/Flames (Age 3 – Grade 1)

Wonderful Welcome: The Gift of Spirit

This sessionwill provide children with ways to share their spirit, such as singing together and sharing joys and concerns. Children are invited to bring pennies from home for a penny collection.

Blazes (Grades 2-3)

Super Heroes of the Bible: Mary and Joseph Journey to Bethlehem

The children will hear about the first part of the Christmas story, the annunciation and the journey to Bethlehem. The children will be introduced to Mary and Joseph as folk characters in “The Cherry Tree Carol.”

Mysteries (Grades 4-5)

Harry and UU: Double Potions

This week the class will look at examples of where things mix, and where they don’t mix.

Questioners Middle Youth (Grades 6-7)

Riddle and Mystery: What to Believe

This week the program poses the Big Question "How Do I Know What to Believe?” The session will demonstrate that life events open big questions, and that different answers work for different people.

Passages (Grade 8)

Coming of Age: Making an Altar

In this week’s session the youth will craft a family altar, generate a list of ritual uses for the altar, and become more comfortable using an altar.

Seekers Senior Youth (Grades 9-12)

Neighboring Faiths: Yule.

This Sunday the Senior Youth will learn about the holiday Yule, and how it fits into the concepts and practices of earth-centered spirituality.
