Little Sundays of Surprises (Age 3- Grade K)

The Rainbow Connection: Being Different is OK

This session explores the values of inclusion and being true to our selves. The class will read the book The Sissy Duckling by Harvey Fierstein, and make friendship bracelets.

Big Sundays of Surprises (Grade 1-6)

What Connects Us?: Love and Gratitude

This week we will present a lesson on gratitude based in the sixth Unitarian Universalist source, “the harmony of nature and the sacred circle of life.” The session will demonstrate our connections to the rhythms of nature through a story about the winter solstice, and cultivate an “attitude of gratitude” by providing opportunities to express thanksgiving.

Sparks Preschool/Flames (Age 3 – Grade 1)

Wonderful Welcome: The Gift of Protection

This sessionwill help participants to understand the seventh Unitarian Universalist Principle, the interdependent web of life, in the context of the natural world around us. The children will be helped to cultivate a sense of responsibility to protect our, and care for, the natural environment.

Blazes (Grades 2-3)

Super Heroes of the Bible: Elijah survives the drought

The children will be encouraged to wonder about Elijah, and things they cannot understand.

Mysteries (Grades 4-5)

Harry and UU: Ancient Runes

This week the class will make their own writing quills, then learn to write and translate ancient runes. The children will begin their fight against the Poverty Horcrux.

Questioners Middle Youth (Grades 6-7)

Riddle and Mystery: Right and Wrong

This week the program poses the Big Question "How am I connected with everything else?” The session will explore the Unitarian Universalist image of the web of all existence and engage youth to reflect on their own place within the web.

Passages (Grade 8)

Coming of Age: Learning to Lead Worship

This week the Passages youth will experience worship that ministers to their spiritual and social needs, and develop skills and confidence in planning and leading worship.

Seekers Senior Youth (Grades 9-12)

Neighboring Faiths: What Do We Know About the Jewish Faith?

This week the Senior Youth will discover what they already know about Judaism, and prepare for their visit to B’nai Israel Synagogue on Friday, November 11, 2016.
