Little Sundays of Surprises (Age 3- Grade K)

The Rainbow Connection: Use Your Manners to Show Respect

In this session the children will explore the values of respect and good manners. It is the fourth session of the unit on the First UU Principle (Red): We believe that each and every person is important. We will read Mind Your Manners, B.B. Wolf by Judy Sierra and have a “tea” party.

Big Sundays of Surprises (Grade 1-6)

What Connects Us?: Love is the Spirit of this Church

In this session the children will hear a story about how love becomes more powerful when it is given away, and experience activities that require working together to accomplish an objective.

Sparks Preschool/Flames (Age 3 – Grade 1)

Wonderful Welcome: The Gift of Forgiveness

The children will explore the value and the challenges of giving and receiving the gift of forgiveness. Through role-play, they will learn to use forgiveness to resolve conflict in their own lives.

Blazes (Grades 2-3)

Super Heroes of the Bible: Moses Receives the Ten Commandments

In this session the children will hear about the Ten Commandments, decide on their own classroom “commandments,” and create an Ark of the Covenant.

Mysteries (Grades 4-5)

Harry and UU: Double Potions

Every good witch and wizard needs to know how to brew potions. Once mixed, some potions cannot be easily separated into individual ingredients. The class will continue to work on the fighting the “No Tools” Horcrux.

Questioners Middle Youth (Grades 6-7)

Riddle and Mystery: Thinking of God

This week the program poses the Big Question "Does God Exist?" and explores Unitarian Universalist responses to it. The youth will become familiar with theological terms and ideas, and explore and develop their own God beliefs.

Passages (Grade 8)

Coming of Age: Your Autobiography

Passages Youth will reflect on the various influences on their lives, and put what is important in their lives into words.

Seekers Senior Youth (Grades 9-12)

Neighboring Faiths: Ritual, Liturgy, and Symbol

The Senior Youth will learn about the Roman Catholic Church in preparation for a visit to a congregation on September 25, 2016.
