Little Sundays of Surprises (Age 3- Grade K)

Chalice Children: Winter Lights

 In this session the children will feel the warmth and magic of candles and light at wintertime. They will also experience the accomplishment of creating their own candle centerpiece.

Big Sundays of Surprises (Grade 1-6)

Timeless Themes: Moses and the Bulrushes

The class will consider the meaning of persecution and people’s responses to it, and become familiar with the story of Moses and the bulrushes.

Sparks Preschool (Ages 3-4)

Story Time: The Story of Christmas

The class will try to retell the Christmas story in their own words, and talk about why Jesus’s life is still important to many people.

Flames (Grades K-1)

Holidays and Holy Days: Posadas – Christmas in Mexico

 This lesson will introduce the familiar Christmas story of Mary and Joseph seeking the inn through the Mexican custom of playing it out as a “street theater.”

Blazes (Grades 2-4)

Holidays and Holy Days: St. Lucia’s Day

The children will experience the Swedish custom of the candle-crowned Lucia maiden who heralds the winter solstice and the arrival of Christmas.

Questioners Middle Youth (Grades 5-7), Passages (Grades 8-9), & Seekers Senior Youth (Grades 10-12)

 All Youth will attend worship led by the Passages Coming of Age class.
