In May, the choir will return to sing on May 5 and 12. On the fifth, the anthem will be We Rise Again, and on May 12, we will close the choir season with a piece by Gwyneth Walker called Let the Life I've Lived Speak for Me.

The Interfaith Federation of Greater Baton Rouge will present the Annual Sounds of CommUNITY Concert, 4pm, Sunday, May 5, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 544 Government Street.

In April, we will celebrate Holy Week with the choir and with guest musicians. The HeartVoice Trio will join forces with the choir on Palm Sunday for a spirited anthem called Cornerstone. The choir will also provide music for the annual Thursday evening Tenebrae service.

I’m very glad we’ve found a way to honor at least part of UUCB’s initial agreement with Nathan concerning sabbatical. The UUA recommends, and his agreement states, that ministers accrue one month of sabbatical for each year of service, to be taken every four to seven years.
