Navigators Chapter 25 --    We are pleased to announce that the Unitarian Church of Baton Rouge will be the site of the newly chartered Navigator Chapter 25 Baton Rouge. Meetings are usually at 1:00 PM in Room 1 on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. (check calendar) Navigators USA offers an alternative secular scouting experience for boys and girls ages 7 - 18 that emphasizes diversity, inclusiveness and all the lessons that Nature has to offer. Chapter leaders are Lynn Farmer and Sheri Glowinski. General information about Navigators USA can be found at www.navigatorsusa.org.

Branches for Youth – A pilot program of Branches groups that are for youth in grades 8 – 12 is being studied. We will start with two groups of mixed ages meeting once a month on Sunday after the second worship service. In the pilot phase of the program, leadership of the groups will be shared between the youth and adult advisors. Stay tuned for more information about leadership training, how youth can join a group, and the date of the first meeting.

Our Branches Program is one of the most popular and successful programs we offer, and we are excited about providing an opportunity for youth to share in that experience. Just as it does for adults, small group ministry for youth can provide a chance for youth to form connections, deepen bonds, and explore their spirituality.

In the coming weeks we will be talking more to our youth, parents, and advisors about beginning this program. Youth may want to talk to the youth who attended the workshop (Quentin Cavell, Maia Cavell, Ally & CC Vickers) about their experience.
