Dr. Seuss and the Unitarian Universalists: If I Ran the Zoo

In this session the children will learn that animals need food and water, protection and care, and that there are many unusual animals in the world.

Big Sundays of Surprises (Grade 1-6)

Creativity Lab: Theatre and Puppetry

The children will play a “charades”-like game, and give a puppet show.

This session celebrates imagination and encourages children to think…about thinking.

Blazes (Grades 2-3)

Tool Box of Faith: Courage and Conviction (Saddlebag)

This session shows how Unitarian Universalism helps people find courage to stand up for what they believe. As an activity the children will make courage stones.

Mysteries (Grades 4-5)

Tool Box of Faith: Atonement (Level)

In this session the class will learn that Unitarian Universalism is a religion that believes in learning from our mistakes and working to make things right. The children will make Pretzel Prayer Bread as an activity.

Questioners Middle Youth (Grades 6-8)

Popcorn Theology: Moving Beyond Assumptions (Dances With Wolves)

This week the Questioners Middle Youth will use scenes from Dances with Wolves to understand the concept of radical hospitality (the practice of taking a risk by opening up oneself to those who are different.

Seekers Senior Youth (Grades 9-12) Popcorn Theology Too: One Nation Under God (Jesus Camp)

This week the Senior Youth will use scenes from the movie Jesus Camp to consider whether or not people have the right to decide when and how they die, to gain awareness of how simple tasks can be harder when you have a disability.
