Little Sundays of Surprises (Age 3- Grade K)

Chalice Children: Closing Sunday

In this final session of the Chalice Children curriculum, the children will be helped to feel gratitude for friends they have made in the class, remembersome of the stories and activities they experienced during the year, and think of themselves as part of this Unitarian Universalist congregation.

Big Sundays of Surprises (Grade 1-6)

Timeless Themes: Mary Magdalene

The children will become familiar with the story of Mary Magdalene, particularly events immediately after the crucifixion. They will also learn of Jesus’s attitude toward women, which were unusual for his time.

Story Time: Peter’s Chair

The children will explore what things they did as babies, but not anymore.

Flames (Grades K-1)

Building Character from the Start: I’m Gonna Like Me: Letting Off a Little Self-Esteem

This session will help remind the children of their good qualities and the fact that it is okay to make mistakes.

Blazes (Grades 2-4)

Building Character with True Stories from Nature: Dragonflies

In this session the children will learn about the long annual migration of dragonflies, and make analogies between this journey and good planning and preparation.

Questioners Middle Youth (Grades 5-7)

Popcorn Theology: True or False (Star Trek V Final Frontier)

This week the Questioners Middle Youth will use the movie Star Trek V Final Frontier to explore ideas from the Fourth Principal, the search for truth and meaning. The Middle Youth will consider the idea of truth as part of an individual’s perception, and as something that can change over time.
