Little Sundays of Surprises (Age 3- Grade K)

Chalice Children: Special Worship Services

In this session the children will be helped to understand, and explore some sensory elements of, some rituals and special services of this congregation.

 

Big Sundays of Surprises (Grade 1-6)

Timeless Themes: Let My People Go

The children will become familiar with the story of Moses and the Ten Commandments, and will examine the rules and responsibilities they experience in their own lives.

Story Time: The Little Engine that Could

The children will explore why some things are hard for them to do, and talk about trying before they say they can’t.

 

Flames (Grades K-1)

World of Wonder: Nature’s Partnerships

This session will introduce partnership as an important aspect of the interdependent web of life, demonstrate the complexity of relationships in the natural world, and empower participants as leaders in the group.

 

Blazes (Grades 2-4)

Signs of Our Faith: We Lead

 In this session the children will understand leadership as a sign of Unitarian Universalist faith, recognize a variety of signs of leadership, and understand there are many different ways to be a leader, and begin to see themselves as leaders.

 

Questioners Middle Youth (Grades 5-7)

Heeding the Call: The Call of Our Unitarian Universalist Heritage

This week’s session will identify our Unitarian Universalist heritage as helping to bring about a more just world, and will illustrate the social justice actions of Unitarian Universalists.

 

Passages (Grades 8-9)

Coming of Age: Starting with Us

This workshop will help the Passages youth analyze what motivates people to engage in good and bad behavior. Cliques will be discussed as well as how groups influence the behavior of individuals.

 

Seekers Senior Youth (Grades 10-12)

Principled Music: The World is Black, The World is White

This week the Seekers Senior Youth examine some songs that have been written about racism to try to bring attention to the problem, and to attempt to achieve changes in the way people of different races interact. Many musicians have been involved in the struggle for equality within the music industry and the greater world, and this session highlights just a few.
