Sunday Morning Classes Summer 2011

9:30 AM and 11:15 am Sunday mornings

Children should continue in the age group that they have been attending this school year.

Flickers (Nursery) Birth-age 2 During both services (9:30 and 11:15), infants and toddlers up to age 2 are cared for by staff caregivers in the church nursery. We strive to create a warm, welcoming and engaging environment in the nursery as the foundation of our religious education program.

Sparks (Preschool) 11:15 - Ages 2-4 In a "Summer of Seuss" this age group will be experiencing the great lessons of Dr. Seuss.   Each week the children will read a beloved Dr. Seuss book and through discussion and experiential activities will explore the morals contained within.

Flames 9:30 - Ages 3-12, 11:15 - Ages 5-6 and up

Blazes/Mysteries 11:15 Ages 7-10

Both Flames groups and the combined Blazes/Mysteries group will enjoy a Summer of Celebrations in the Montessori-based SpiritPlay method. Children will learn about a different worldwide holiday or holy day within circle time and then engage in a related activity or independent work time. Questioners (Middle Youth) 11:15 grades 5-7

Seekers (Senior Youth) 11:15 grades 8-12 Grades 5-12 will enjoy a Summer of The Simpsons using the curriculum from The Gospel According to The Simpsons as well as the Unitarian Universalist supplement to this book. Each week the two groups will start together to view the assigned assigned Simpsons episode and then will split into separate groups for discussion.
