Steve Crump to receive Bienville House Center for Peace and Justice Wade Mackie Award~ Thursday, May 19, 6 PM at University United Methodist Church 3350 Dalrymple.

Bienville House Center for Peace and Justice established the The Wade Mackie Peacemaking Award in the late 1980's.  Wade Mackie was the Baton Rouge director of the American Friends Service Committee.  In the 1960's, he organized a storefront where blacks and whites met together, a radical action for that time in Baton Rouge.    Wade was an outspoken opponent of racial segregation.
